I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor.
What is the difference between psychodynamic and other counselling? A psychodynamic approach helps you find the root causes of the disconnect in your life. I work with how your past experiences and relationships have shaped your internal world. I also help you explore your unconscious mind's affect on negative thought patterns - your thoughts unknown. Discovering how these deep emotions impact your life can be transformative.
There is no judgement and the counselling room is a space to unpack whatever is troubling you. I ask that you commit to weekly sessions until our work is established. I work on an open-ended basis to allow us time to safely explore your reasons for coming to counselling.
"We may not be responsible for the world that created our minds, but we can take responsibility for the mind with which we create our world." Gabor Mate
I work with adults and young people (16+/ Year 12 onwards).
It is extremely important that you are assured that the therapist you choose is appropriately qualified. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and abide by their ethical framework and code of conduct. To become a member I qualified on a three year BACP accredited course and abide by their requirements for ongoing supervision and continuing professional development.
